Course Description
In this series, we will explore the nature and characteristics of the Shekhinah energy. We will learn to see its creative force working around us and discover how to harness its power in our own being.
Session One: A Creative Force
The Shekhinah energy embodies the creative force of the universe. It creates life on all levels of existence by binding spirit and matter together to form a living divine creation.
Session Two: Protection and Destruction
The Shekhinah is a tremendous protective force on both the personal and collective level. The Shekhinah not only protects, She also destroys. The power of the Shekhinah as a destructive force is described in many places throughout the Bible.
Session Three: The Shekhinah and Speech
According to the Kabbalah, the Shekhinah is closely associated with speech. In fact, the mouth is identified with the sefirah of malkhut -- the bottommost sefirah and the home of the Shekhinah. This is because the mouth uses the Shekhinah energy to create words.
Session Four: Awakening the Shekhinah
There are many ways to awaken the Shekhinah in the tradition. In this session, we will explore how to raise the Shekhinah energy using prayer, meditation, and contemplative kavanot -- spiritual intentions.
Session Five: Living with the Shekhinah
Learning to live with the Shekhinah energy is the foundation of the spiritual life. In this session, we will explore ways in which we can bring Her living presence into the ordinary events of our daily existence.
Course Format
Each session is 2 hours long and includes teaching, meditation, breakout groups, practical exercises, textual study, and Q&A.
